lucy and Chronicle Books Team Up for New Year Promotion
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – lucy activewear, a fashion forward performance apparel company for women, has teamed up with Chronicle Books, one of the most admired and respected publishers in the U.S. for an instore and online promotion beginning on January 10, 2011.
This is an innovative partnership designed to encourage customers to follow lucy’s 8-week healthy lifestyle challenge based on the new book, Dr. Mao’s 8 Week Program by Dr.Maoshing Ni, a 38th-generation doctor of Chinese medicine and an authority in Taoist anti-aging medicine. This integrated alliance delivers a cross-merchandising promotion with online and in-store exposure. The promotion consists of an in-store personal appearance, a customer challenge, and an online contest, inviting consumers to enter to win a $1000 gift certificate to lucy and a personal consultation with Dr.Mao.
Dr. Mao’s 8 Week Program, a follow up to his bestselling Secrets of Longevity, offers readers information and tools to incorporate Dr. Mao's sage health advice into their lives in 8 short weeks. The trick is adopting small habit-forming actions that stick—walking for 20 minutes a day, drinking a detox tea, stretching before bed—all of which add up to make a big difference in the long run.
One of the most important and easiest ways to affect longevity, according to Dr Mao, is by exercising, and lucy’s philosophy and products are a perfect fit for Dr. Mao’s program.
“We are thrilled to partner with lucy,” said Nancy Deane, Senior Marketing Manager for Chronicle Books. “Our mission to offer books that improve readers’ lives dovetails perfectly with lucy’s work to create performance apparel that inspires and motivates women to reach their best self.”
“Promoting a healthy and active lifestyle is paramount to lucy, and to have the opportunity to deliver that message along with Chronicle Books and Dr. Mao is a wonderful way to make a difference in our customers’ lives” said Shaz Kahng, President of lucy activewear.
