Seane Corn
International yoga instructor and co-founder, Off the Mat, Into the World®
“Ignore the story. See the soul. Remember to love yourself and others, and you will never regret it.” This is Seane Corn’s biggest piece of advice to yoga practitioners across America. She repeats it: “Ignore the story. See the soul. The story behind everything is insignificant; every one of us is here to learn, to grow and experience what love really is.” Seane uses this mantra to illustrate her personal path—how, through yoga, she was able to become grounded, redirect her energy towards humanitarianism.
"Ignore the story. See the soul. The story behind everything is insignificant; every one of us is here to learn, to grow and experience what love really is."
“The thing about yoga is that it recognizes that there is no separation between mind, body and spirit,” Seane explains. In fact, the Sanskrit translation of yoga means “to unite.” Through the practice, tension goes out the window, along with old emotions and energy, opening the heart to healing. Ultimately, yoga organically creates a community of altruistic people who understand that the discipline has the ability to change—and save—lives.
Seane wants to mobilize that community. In 2006, she co-founded a non-profit called Off the Mat, Into the World®, with the goal of bridging the gap between yoga and service. The organization trains leaders to find their purpose through intensive journaling, meditation and yoga, and then gives them emotional and practical tools to create effective community programs; Off the Mat’s yearly Seva Challenge widens the service scope to an international scale.
Why the Hatha Pant?
As an early tester of the Hatha Pant and a serious practitioner, Seane not only loves its fashion but the effortless fit and substantial fabric. “They wash really well, they wear really well and they fit. They don’t ride up, or gather around the ankle…those are the things I look for in a pant.” Our Hatha Pant was specifically designed so that yoginis can get on the mat, focus and—just as Seane Corn does—enjoy the benefits of the practice. So join us in supporting Off the Mat, Into the World®--and make a difference.
