Active Summer Skincare that’s gym bag (and purse!) friendly

I’m a year-round skincare fanatic, but when summer hits I completely re-evaluate what I carry around with me. My products have to be effective, easy to apply, fast working and light (on my shoulder, not just my face!). Most importantly they have to feel good on and revitalize my skin, whether I’m running to a workout or freshening up right after one.

These 8 skincare products all under $25 cater to the fitness-loving woman on-the-go. My hunch is that’s YOU! Let me guess, you know how to break a sweat but you also look forward to showing off how well you clean up and glow like a pro. If I guessed right, these products are made for you!

All gyms are full of germs and I can’t even tell you how many people touch the dumbbells, machinery and equipment you use. Even your own sweat is full of toxins! You should always wear weight-training gloves and wash your hands after a workout. But for all the times you forget or feel apprehensive about what you’ve touched, I recommend CleanWell’s disinfectant hand spray.  It kills germs botanically and doesn’t smell like chemicals or leave a sticky residue on your hands.

After you break a sweat, the last thing you want to do is break out! Glō Therapeautic’s Gentle Cream Cleanser and Christen Michel’s Replenished Daily Spritz are my favorite cleansing and hydrating duo post-workout.

Both come in a small 2 fluid oz size bottle, which won’t weight down your bag. The Gentle Cream Cleanser is light and refreshing. It removes oil and the salty build-up from sweat without drying out your face. If you have sensitive skin, you’ll love it! Especially if you’re of the breed that works out more than once a day and is always washing up

Replenished Daily Spritz is infused with fancy elements like platinum, oxygen, gold and silver to soothe and hydrate your skin. It feels amazing misted on right after the cream cleanser. On really hot days, you can lock in moisture with this spritz instead of using a face lotion that might clog your pores.

A firm body needs a firm face to match. Time Freeze Ultra Firm Elixir by Lumene smoothes and tightens your skin using wild ligonberry extract, which you can see in the form of pearl-like capsules within the bottle.

2 pumps is all you need to of this antioxidant rich elixir. Your pores will close and your skin will feel tighter and silky soft. Even your makeup will go on smoother afterwards. Think of it as a healthy primer!

Finally, a dry shampoo created by a fitness brand! When I found out that Kore Studio NYC was creating a hair care line to compliment their fitness offerings, I was over the moon. No more walking out of sweaty workouts with matted hair. Just throw this paraban and sulfate-free Dry Clean Only spray in your gym bag. It’s also safe on colored and chemically straightened hair. Order it directly from Kore for $14!

Don’t underestimate things that come in small packages! A skincare towelette can be life-changing. My 2 favorites to tuck away in your bag are Tan Towel Plus and Healthy Hoo Hoo.

Tan Towel Plus will give you the most believable lightly bronzed glow and it takes all of 1 minute to apply. I recommend using them on your legs, which is usually the hardest part of your body to fake tan. The Tan Towel Plus formula will coat them beautifully with zero sun damage.

Healthy Hoo Hoo wipe comes in handy when you need to freshen up down there. It’s important to change out of your sweaty workout clothes as fast as you can once you’re done at the gym but the truth is it doesn’t always happen that way. This wipe could save you from the knarly consequence of a sweaty panty. Nuff said!

Don’t be skip sunscreen this summer.  Apply Supergoop! With a lightweight texture and SPF of 40, you can layer it under your makeup or expect to at least get a little bit of sun while laying out. Again, if you have sensitive skin, you’re winning with this product because it helps reduce redness and irritation while simultaneously protecting you from the sun’s UV rays.

There you have it. Your new skincare shopping list!
